Parenting Plan Tune-Ups

With school starting up again, it is a good time to ask -- is your parenting plan still working? Or does your parenting plan need a tune-up?

When divorcing couples make their initial parenting plan, it often reflects the needs, activities and schedules of the family at the time. However, as your children grow, their interests and activities change. In addition, the parents’ work schedules may also be different now that some time has elapsed. As a result, the plans for covering expenses and allocating parenting time may also need to change.

At Westfield Mediation, LLC, we offer post-divorce mediation for just these scenarios.  Divorced couples can meet with a trained impartial mediator for a few sessions to make some key modifications to their parenting plans.  Through this cooperative process, ex-spouses create a new blueprint that works for their family without rehashing old arguments or returning to court.  Mediation is an economical and effective means of minimizing conflict, which is better for you and your children. Moreover, people are more likely to follow a plan that they have created together.
